Did anyone else notice that he refers to a "chevy neon" as being a car in the book? This isn't a thing is it? I mean I know there's a dodge neon... weird!
Joanne There used to be Chevy neons too. This confused me as a teen (I grew up in Detroit) but it exists!

Joe W Probably not. All I know is the story line regarding the firefighters covers similar events displayed in the documentary Burn (2012).

Since it's real life over the course of a couple years, there is no fight against a defined enemy that escalates, hero wins, and so on. So all of it matters, the day to day points and issues, everyday wins and losses, the daily grind, all combined into a thoughtful narrative. My takeaway: he can't save Detroit, but the people together can, and it is worth it. (less)
