Michell Karnes By that point in the story after so many subplots this did not throw me. I actually was anxious for the story to come to a somewhat plausible ending.

Wow!!! When I came across this title in an email of recommendations, it sounded interesting. I occassionally enjoy a really good historical mystery/thriller. However, after checking out some of the reviews on GR, I was really disappointed to discover that the book isn't that good. So my question is: is this a case of a bad start to a good series that gets better in later books or is this a case of just a bad series?
