Anyone else notice that Cassie has time-traveled before the story even begins? After Mr. Webber dies early in the novel she goes to his apartment to look for clues about the book of doors. While there she notices evidence that a younger woman had been living with Mr. Webber. Later on it becomes clear that a different Cassie, marooned in 2012, had been that younger woman staying with him!
