And since this is the original work, you won't find any fillers so you won't feel like any of the jokes drag on like they sometimes do in the anime.
The only downside would be the translation, but that was to be expected since Gintama jokes were mainly targeted towards its Japanese audience; with that said, I think they did a good job all things considered.
In short, if you loved the anime then odds are you'll love this as well.(less)
