I kn…moreMy edition has a note at the front, where a dedication would often be, that says, "palm: a leaf of the palm as a symbol of victory or rejoicing." I know that palm leaves are awarded in some branches of the military, Boy Scouts, things like that for special or meritorious service. Hope this helps.(less)
