I don't know what you were expecting it to be. It's most definitely not (not not!!) Fifty Shades of Grey. It's more of an American Classic, on a par with Gone With the Wind, East of Eden, Catcher in the Rye, or The Great Gatsby. It's a novel that takes place in a time gone by (1930s and 40s) but with universal themes (growing up, growing wise, love, family, heartbreak, to name a few). (less)
