I read this book several years ago, but listening to him reading it is far better. I'm so grateful that I have discovered audiobooks, particularly read by the authors, because they add so much more to the telling. George Carlin's books blow me away in audio.
As I listen, I find that I remember few of the details regarding Kennedy, the Rolling Stones, Vietnam, and so many of the other events that we shared, a couple of hundred miles apart, but kin. So funny to remember those events 50 years later. He's a national treasure. I'm so glad that Jon Stewart gave him a louder voice, and that he's so much more popular these days.
I remember when we weren't such a repressed society. The Sixties and Seventies were different. Lewis needs to keep that alive, and let younger people see how it's done, and keep fighting. We need to be offensive in a good way, like this. I don't watch tv or news any more, so I can't watch Lewis, either. I'll bet he's apoplectic these days. (less)
