The series is centered around Rand Al'Thor, the Dragon Reborn prophecies, and the ultimate release and final battle with the Dark One. Sure, Robert Jordan names a lot of characters, take you through a lot of point-of-view chapters, and sends you all over the place. Even if there are dozens of small subplots, they are all wrapping up the general plot into a cohesive whole, dealing with Aes Sedai, Aiel, etc. It's quite clear what the series is about, and what the overall goal of the storyline is.(less)
