It became less of an issue after Napoleon's defeat.
The Brits still did it, but not nearly as often after the Napoleonic war when there was not such a dire need for sailors.
They also didn't do it as casually to American vessels after the War of 1812 in order to avoid more incidents with the U.S. who had gone from the little brother that can be bullied at will without fear of retribution, to the grown up little brother who had now earned their respect.(less)
