As such, she saw her daughter as an extension of herself and was adamant that Miranda keep her tail as it was the only visible tie to the Binewski family. There was one line in the book about Oly wanting to protect future women from Ms. Lick's schemes, but it was glossed over so quickly that I don't believe it was a true motivation--only what Oly told herself to justify her actions. The real motivation was to preserve family identity in Miranda. (less)
