The first part is just a slog between Charity's day to day life and actually serious discussions on systemic racism in the U.S. It's actually kinda boring, which you don't want in a thriller. I wish they would have touched on the serious implications of systemic racism over large time periods, and the struggles of the underpriveleged. But nope, we've gotta know about Charity's stepmom and her stupid tv show. (less)
