First one of her books I have read and so far I am having a really hard time getting into the book. It seems too wordy. Am I alone on this?

I'm from Brazil and here's releases Scarpetta series are well overdue, we are still in Port Mortuary. And reading the comments from you I was curious to know a few things, but right now just like to know if anyone can tell me if Benton betrays Kay really? And if Kay betrays Benton? Or is it just paranoia of them? Yes, I want spoilers, I need to end my curiosity! If someone can help me, I'll be very grateful. Thanks.

who the hell is the killer? he is only named in the last chapter. I searched the whole book and couldn't find his name.... WTF!
