I read the first four of the Earthsea Cycle and then started 'The Other Wind' because I assumed that 'Tales From Earthsea' was separate from the narrative of the rest of the series (set in the same world, but not with the same characters and sequence of events). Is this an accurate assumption, or do I need to read 'Tales From Earthsea' in order to understand 'The Other Wind'?

Why on earth is this 2012 edition hardcover of TfE seemingly out of print and used copies going for $50-$150, when the other 5 books in the series (1-4, and 6) in the same hardcover printing sell for $13-15? I just want to complete my set, but all I can find are 2001 copies, not even the same size and a different dustcover. :(

I don't think the publisher made the last 2 books in that hardcover edition. The one you're finding is probably the black hardcover "The Books of Earthsea", not "Tales From Earthsea". "The Books" is so expensive because it's the entire 6 book collection in one compendious tome. I was looking for the last two to complete my set as well but they don't seem to exist, sadly. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.(less)
