Cain and Abel. It is found in the book Genesis 4:1-16
Cain and Abel were the sons of Adam and Eve. Abel was a shepherd, while Cain was a farmer. Both brothers made offerings to God, but God favored Abel's offering over Cain's. In a fit of jealousy and anger, Cain lured Abel into a field and murdered him. When God confronted Cain about Abel's whereabouts, Cain famously responded, "Am I my brother's keeper?" As a result God punished Cain, marking him and condemning him to be a wonderer. This story is often interpreted as a lesson on jealousy, anger and moral responsibility.(less)
