Did anyone else notice that Emory and Clara's names are transposed for the other's twice in the novel? In my edition (US, published by Sourcebooks), p. 53 (ch. 10) says "Emory" when Clara is meant and vice versa, p. 283 (ch. 65) it says "Clara" when Emory is the actual speaker. Can these really be mistakes? Quite egregious, if so (especially in a work that's already twisty enough)!

does this tie in with the 71/2 deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle at all? Im still early in, but it keeps referring to BlackHeath- which is the estate is the other book.

Devon I think it’s just an Easter egg. He mentions in the Reader’s Guide that he likes adding in little Easter eggs from his other novels into the next.

How come the Elders were able to live so long?

I listened to the audiobook ... as the narrator is Abi (referred to as female) and in first person, WHY is this narrated by a man? As soon as I clarified that Abi was female (and the narration "voice" when she spoke had a feminine quality) my brain just struggled with her "brain voice" narrating the rest of the story being so male. I feel like this needed a female voice - anyone else?

I imagine if there wasn't any sort of contractual obligation to narrate all three, then Turton just liked Stewart as a narrator and didn't want to take a chance on someone new.(less)
