- The author's writing improves through the series (they are all amazing books, his writing does get better though). I feel that publication order is less jarring to read.

Pros of chronological order:
- Last First Snow doesn't get spoiled. (according to many of the reviews who found the book less interesting because they knew what happens at the end, I disagree)(less)
