Let's be honest. Would any of the people who give Tarantula five star reviews have even bothered to pick this book off the bookshelf if it did not have Bob Dylan's name attached to it?

I certainly would have gotten different things, though probably just as significant, if this book was written by someone else. But if this book wasn't by Bob Dylan, it wouldn't have been written, so your question is kinda moot. I gave this 5 stars because it deserves to not be thrown out simply BECAUSE it is a Bob Dylan book too. I feel like too many people going in to this book expect something very different than the point of this book, and this book doesn't really have a point. It is truly a book that is more of an experience than piece of literature. I think his writing is transcendent here, and BECAUSE it IS indeed BOB DYLAN transcending here, that is at least partially why I am interested haha. But his connection with everyday language, and writing "poetry of the street" as I think one critic described it, is undeniable.(less)
