The prohibition a long lasting but still entertaining topic. To me it is not absolutely clear, if the protagonist is really a sociopath or not? Anyway you could just lean back and really enjoy the plot. I am in favour of uncomplicated books! Btw if your a fan of the 1920s, Flemming's Das Schweigen des Lichtes could be something for you. Provided that you understand german.

In chapter 6, Thomas tells the other cops that Joe was involved in the killing of 3 cops in New Hampshire. This confused me since the robbery took place in Pittsfield (MA), not NH. The news headlines said it happened in western Mass. Why did he say "New Hampshire"?
