Did anyone like this book? The title & cover are superb...how is this book?

Usually those victorian type things are boring and melodramatic over the littlest thing, but this was a lively and entertaining story.(less)

Wondering if this would be an appropriate choice for a strong reader (HS-level ability) in upper elementary? In other words, any graphic violence or detailed intimacy encounters? Thanks!

Janell The references to violence and intimacy are written as though for a Victorian audience ... from that point of view, I think it would be fine.
