But there are a handful that I’ve used to teach various literary devices and figurative language elements for 8th grade: “26 Monkeys, Also the Abyss” for its magical realism; “The Bitey Cat” and also “Wolf Trapping” for zoomorphism; “Ponies” for anthropomorphism. Some stories in the collection have very mature and graphic content, so screen before instruction. (less)
