I read many of his books between the age of 10 and 20. I thought I would re-read some. Having just been to French Polynesia I started reading Tales of the South Pacific. Boy, times have changed: I could not finish this book because it was rife with colonial attitudes and blatant racism. I am wondering if this book will be the same? Thoughts????

Tony da Napoli Historical fact and realism can sometimes be hard to deal with. Michener is brutally honest and thoroughly researched in all his works.
