It is not fraud unless you are paying someone to teach you and it isn't working. You can even borrow the book from the library, won't cost you anything. I do think that things like the "recapitulation" are at least plausible. Don't we all need to look at things in our life that caused us pain and work through them? As far as "magic" goes and other such nonsense you can always just gloss/skip over it.(less)
