I bought this book and started reading it, but I found myself skimming the entire first two chapters because I was so disturbed by the imagery of the starved cat that I just gave up on it altogether. The story sounds intriguing, but I want to be able to sleep at night if I read it. Is there a section where I could start reading where I will miss all the creepy parts, or should I just choose another book?
