Is this a novelization or a picture book (even if it has a little text)? Half the reviews seem to say one and half the reviews the other. I can't find any info about an actual Dune novelization so I'm assuming it's the latter.

This volume has been adapted by Joan D. Vinge, who is a well-respected author in the science fiction/fantasy genre, but it was adapted from the movie, not the book, and significantly abridged. It is a photo- and text-heavy adaptation of David Lynch's 1984 film Dune, which is, of course, an adaptation of Frank Herbert's 1965 novel of the same name.

If it's any help, the pages are mostly text, but all of them have screenshots from the film, and there are some pages with no text, just screenshots.(less)
