I started with the Devil in Winter (#3), then read Scandal in Spring (#4), and now I am reading Secrets of a Summer Night (book #1) and plan to read book #2 after. Nothing was really spoiled for me. By reading the last two books in the series first, I wasn't confused or anything. No, in my opinion, you do not NEED to read the books in order. (less)

I thi…moreI've just re-read this book and feel that he always wanted her, anyway he could get her - he fell in love with her long before she did with him. I think the heroine just assumed that he wanted her as a mistress, because of their class differences. And so she was shocked when he offered to marry her because of that assumption. Perhaps I missed something?(less)

I just finished the Audible version; it had a disclaimer that the content had been altered from the original 2004 version. Does anyone know what was altered? I've tried Google searches and Lisa Kleypas' website, but I can find no information.

Loved it!!!My first time reading a Lisa Kleypas novel...and definitely one of my top 5 author! How she describes the setting in each chapter...truly amazing!! cant wait to start on the second book...Could she gone further with the story of Simon and Annabelle?

Of course, they are given mention in the following novels and I quite like the ending of "A wallflower Christmas" because there are a few scenes dedicated to each couple, and this pair - as secondary characters - play a minor role in "Seduce me at sunrise" (Hathaways #2). Evie and Sebastian however - the third (and my favourite!) couple of the wallflowers - get further expansion in the ravenels (Lisa Kleypas's latest and ongoing series), namely because there are 2 out of the 6 (currently 4) novels dedicated to their children. The third one (Devil in Winter) is about their son Gabriel, Lord St. Vincent and the fifth one (coming out next year - Devil's Daughter) is about the eldest daughter Phoebe (who is given minor mention in a wallflower Christmas and the first book of the hathaways!).
