So I have understood that this is neither SF nor horror. It tells about this ex astronaut who is bored and frustrated with his life. Problem is that I am bored and frustrated with this book, I have come to the part where he visits the town where he grew up. Momentarily I don't see a point in reading on. Is there something (more) interesting happening in the rest of the book?

I actively railed against it while reading it, but I did enjoy certain parts for sure and I feel like it will be a book that I end up thinking back to a good amount from time to time in the future because of the special moments mixed in with all the boring nothing.
Still my least favorite Simmons book though. Carrion Comfort for me next. And/Or Drood.(less)
