I'm almost done and feel like I MUST be missing something. TBoys on a boat meet people and do stuff. What's the story? Is there some symbolism? Some meaningful theme? A friend recommended this and I really want to like it, but I don't "get it." The prose is poetic, but is there more? If anyone can illuminate, please help.

in the Author's notes - he says that his friend Warren Zevon wrote in Cassius's visitors' book (some lyrics to one of his tunes) --- confused - did Zevon really write in the book or did author just those lyrics? he said Zevon was visiting from New Jersey
