To someone who has listened to the audio book version, are they any good? I absolutely love Davina Porter as the narrator of the Outlander series but I've never heard Jeff Woodman.

I'm reading Zombies as its in the Seven Stones book. I really like Lord John in Outlander but in this small taster I'm really noticing the lack of romance or the personal. Are there books in the LJG series that focus as well as a mystery on his personal life? I'd like to read all the Percy stuff or about his friend that died at Culloden. I think a mystery alone will bore me a little.

There was nothing in it that was reminiscent of Gabaldon's writing style, at least to me. I read the second in the series, and it was possibly a bit better. I'm now reading The Scottish Prisoner which finally seems like it is has similar style, voice, etc. that we are used to with the Outlander series. Hope this helps someone.(less)
