Was anyone upset when Melanie burned the diary? I don't understand why she didn't at least share it with her husband, leaving him in the dark about why she was suicidal. I believed he deserved some closure. And Chris as well.

People didnt accept people getting therapy back then because they thought it would be on your permanent record and would ruin your chances in life--this was what I was told when I sought therapy for similar reasons, more important to look good for a mythical boss than get help for us. And she couldn't tell Chris because she thought he would judge her or be disappointed. (less)
