Be warned: Apparently, this RosettaBooks Kindle edition of TDOTT has been butchered, although it claims to be unabridged. Just a warning. I would assume Penguin would produce an intact edition. Anybody know anything about this?

What is the point of Triffids? The book is pretty much a clean end-of-the-world scenario and Triffids seem a little bit tacked on. Is there a history about why author added something as unrealistic as them in the book? Was it to claim it was nature's revenge for humanity's treatment of it, or maybe pressure from editor to add monsters to make it more horror-like?

Jared Early highschool is probably fine

is there any explicit violence or sexual content??

Jared There is explicit violence but it is fairly tame and the only sexual content is some PG13 romantic sexual stuff
