Has anyone who has read this book anything to say about this book? I know not every physician (including the luminary Galen) believed a woman's reproductive organs roved freely through a woman causing traumatic hysteria within her, but I really (REALLY!) would like to understand how anyone could believe such a thing. I know why someone would like to demonize another person like this. I get that easy enough.

In reading this book, will I get a sense of the thinking of men/women who actually believed this at the time rather than the (obviously) manipulative ones who used this lie? The thinking (as late as the last century) is so foreign to me. WILL THIS BOOK GIVE ME THIS INSIGHT?(less)
