Why is this book in the series different? I'm reading them in order, got to this one and have started it many times, just couldn't get past the first few chapters. I finally just moved on to The Girl with the Braided hair and read that one right through, enjoying it as I have he others. What's different about this tale to not hook me in?

Cr Mania I think this book brings the relationship between Father John and Vicky into view very late in the story while readers are expecting it much earlier. …moreI think this book brings the relationship between Father John and Vicky into view very late in the story while readers are expecting it much earlier. Also, the author introduces a variety of characters and scenes before bringing the main characters together again. Great story, but a bit of a wait for the usual main character tensions. However this method does keep it from being a 'romance' and makes it more of a who-done-it mystery!(less)
