I guess it's a generational thing. I was a kid in the 70s in the UK and occasionally my Grandma would give us sugar sandwiches. They were literally sliced bread spread with butter and sprinkled with sugar. The thought is appalling now, but at the time I remember loving them (alternatively we had golden syrup sandwiches or jam (jelly) sandwiches and for a really special treat, mashed banana sandwiches!). I must stress that these weren't for a main meal, but rather as a quick snack. Different times.(less)

Due to King being an extremely popular author the book has been re printed multiple times. If they change the text size it will affect page count :) I just finished the 2021 version and it was 750 pages :0(less)

I ready it as a high school love story, and loved that it was - what I, as a German Gen-Xer - think of as quite-essentially American - rather than a horror novel.
While there is gore, I personally didn't think it is particularly scary. Not like, say, IT.(less)
