This is more an exhausting post-apocalyptic 'road trip' novel (author credits Cormac McCarthy for some of his inspiration - I haven't personally read the latter's seminal work tho have heard of it)...

It's fairly gruelling, perhaps even monotonous: the sustained and inexplicably psychopathic violence as much so as the long hard trek through the wilderness...

Wayward Pines is more immediately gratifying, with more twists, turns and subsequent answers.

Run is more a marathon than a sprint, if you'll forgive the analogy ;-)(less)

Why were the names being announced over the radio and who was doing it?

I'm about 25% of the way through this book, nothing new is happening, it seems like the same thing over and over and over again - without any spoilers, please let me know if/when this book actually gets better?! I'm trying to decide if it's worth finishing.

Did I miss something?? I was reading along and the book just ended with the good guys beating on one of the bad guys and the doc walking out???
