Did any of you readers see this production? I saw a Royal Shakespeare production of "The Merry Wives of Windsor" in the Pit at the Barbican in the 1980s .... re-imagnined as an episode of ... omg ... "I Love Lucy" in the 1950s. All original text and language, of course. Utterly fabulous, astonishing, beehive hairdos, Falstaff as a lounge (pub) lizard, almost

I have fond memories of the version of this play my sister and I performed for ourselves as children. We sat on the floor and took turns as the various characters, picking the most ridiculous cartoon voices we could muster for them. High time for a reprisal!

People should to lean-in to all the silliness Shakespeare has to offer.(less)
