Is this fiction or non-fiction? I don't read fiction (long story), love reading travel adventure, especially comedic ones. From the review, I can't get a grasp of what this book is about.

He is funny, and a little dark, and makes some very insightful observations about other cultures and his own. If you enjoy humorous travel writing, I recommend Bill Bryson. He makes me laugh out loud and with a lot fewer cringes than Sedaris. (less)
