My therapist has recommended this book (the first on a rather long list of things to read) but based on reviews I've read it seems to focus mostly on overt forms of abuse. I'm trying to address symptoms related to emotional neglect and developmental attachment trauma. Does the author spend much time addressing those kinds of difficulties?

This book has a couple pages on sibling relationships following parental abuse -- does anyone know of a book that goes into those issues in more depth? I know there are a couple out there if your siblings were the prime abusers, but I mean for navigating relationships with siblings that might be enmeshed with your abusive parents or be toxic in adulthood, etc.

What book shall I recommend for my parents to read, so they could as well understand the harm? The toxic parents book title might prevent them from identifying with patterns mentioned in this book. They also would need a different advice for coping with the situation I suppose.
