Jemima was my 6 great grandmother, through Squire and his son Rudolphus. I absolutely loved this book. Once I finished, I immediately read it again. The story is profounding moving, the hardships unbelievable. I've done research into the family and the author did an amazing job with accuracy. There are a few characters and events that are missing, but this is the case with most novels based on true evens and this was written nearly 200 years later. Certainly license was taken with personalities. It was a great read.(less)

I have read this book several times and each time I am amazed at the hardships this woman went through and how she managed to pull her family back together again. And I am so proud to be her descendant. I am looking for any images of her?
