Unanswered Questions (2)

I think there is an error in the chronology of events during the day of December 25. In chapter 6: "Just past mid-day Hank was singing, […]" then during the same day, in chapter 10: "About noon, we bought some sandwich makings, and Tim called his mother […]". Tow middays during the same day! Did I misunderstand?
