I just read this, the Thicket and Paradise Sky, I absolutely loved them. They had me snorting with laughter and I genuinely felt a loss at the end for the great characters Lansdale creates, good or bad. Got to be the sign of a good read when you feel sad to finish a book. So I found Lansdale and I'm working my way through his other stuff but can you recommend a similar author?
