I've tried reading both Glasshouse and Accelerando by Stross and I had to put them down 100-150 pages in because they were overly full of technobabble, reeeeaaaally weird concepts and most of all - unlikeable characters. Will I have the same experience with the Laundry Files or are they significantly different in writing style and characterization?

I've thoroughly enjoyed the entire Laundry series, and the world Stross started building with this book.(less)

I'm having a tough time getting through this book. I'm mid way and frank;ly... it's just boring. Does it get any better or should I just walk away?
