OMG: does this book get a bit more..user friendly as we go? I feel like I am going to be headed for a test in English/Scots History and just wanted a good, well written book on this Queen..I love this type of book and usually my issue is the book isnt long enough, not enough detail. I keep thinking I ought to grab something more..first person?? to read? anyone else find this a bit dry??

It's a very solid biography, but, no, it's not a breezy read. You really can't fully cover Mary's life without going into the history of England/Scot politics and the absolute mess Henry set up that Elizabeth and Mary had to navigate. You'll probably find some historical fiction, but there's not a lot of non-fiction about this period that is going to not include that backgroud. And, I hope, no non-fiction in first person. (less)
