Calendar Girl: Volume OneCalendar Girl: Volume TwoCalendar Girl: Volume ThreeCalendar Girl: Volume Four would definitely be my recommendations. Audrey Carlan is simply a genius, and well worth recommending. :-)

ONE TRUE THING, by Anna Quindlen. 4.6 stars. Describes the relationship between a mother dying of cancer and her daughter who comes home to care for her. After the mother's death, the daughter is accused of a mercy killing. Moving. THE SOUND OF A WILD SNAIL EATING, by Elisabeth Tova Bailey. 5 stars. A delightful little book. What I like to call "A palate cleanser." It clears the mind.
IDAHO, by Emily Ruskovich. 5 stars. This beautifully-written story grabs you from the first chapter.
I've read 2, Dark Matter and A Darker Shade of Magic and the rest are in my TBR. I can't think of any off the top of my head.

"I loved A MAN CALLED OVE also. It was my first introduction to Fredrik Backman's writing and I've read several more since. I loved "Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer."
I was attracted by the beautiful cover, started reading and very soon I knew that I needed this book: The Fairy Wren by Ashley Capes, who has become my favourite author. Everything he writes is so awesome. Check it out!
Have to add: the curious incident of the dog in the nighttime: It was 7 minutes after midnight. The dog was lying on the grass in the middle of the lawn in front of Mrs.Shears's house. Its eyes were closed. It looked as if it was running on its side, the way dogs run when they
think they are chasing a cat in a dream. But the dog was not running or asleep. The dog was dead
News of the World didn't keep me wanting to read in the first 20 pages or so, and I knew others at the library were on hold for it, so I let it go.

Beartown was excellent!
I enjoyed Station Eleven so much. The way it weaves its characters stories and makes you realize all the things we take for granted takes apocalyptic narrative to a whole new level.

Vaguely surprised that 'Ready Player One' by Ernest Cline didn't make the cut or get mentioned yet considering how hard it was to even get when it first came out. Brain candy palate cleanser but it just sucked me right in. I had to leave it at home when I went to work just so I wouldn't be crabby that it was right there but I couldn't touch it. :D

I picked "a brief history of seven killings" for my book club last year. It has now made our book club history as the only book that not one single member could finish - it was that terrible.... nothing else to say.
I HIGHLY recommend a court of thorns and roses before you read a court of wings and fury. They are so damn good!
The Martian by Andy Weir is definitely a book that grabs you from page 1 and doesn't let you go until you cross "the end."
Commonwealth by Ann Patchett. From the first page I knew it was gonna be a cracker.Station Eleven was something a bit special, right from the word go.
The first Gormenghast novel by Mervyn Peake, though that was more a matter of his writing style than suspension.
