90 New Paperbacks for Grab-and-Go Reading

It's time once again for our semi-regular roundup of new books in paperback, dedicated to the reader on the go. In this collection, we have 90 books newly released to paperback format in the U.S. In fact, this collection goes back to April 2025—when we did our last paperback roundup. The idea, as always, is to sort for the good stuff.
Several of the titles here made a splash upon their initial hardcover publication and crossed over into the worldwide cultural conversation. For instance, Abraham Verghese’s multigenerational drama The Covenant of Water or Jennette McCurdy’s blockbuster memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died.
Impatient readers will be happy to hear that several of last year’s big books have cycled quickly to paperback: Liz Moore’s Adirondack mystery The God of the Woods, or Sally Rooney’s latest, Intermezzo. Others took a little longer, like James McBride’s 2023 The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store or P. Djèlí Clark’s ferocious 2020 dark fantasy, Ring Shout.
Finally, a little detour for those who appreciate book cover design. Publishers like to switch things up sometimes when a book cycles to paperback. Check out the paperback edition of Liane Moriarty’s existential thriller Here One Moment, which riffs on the central motif of the original hardback art. Yael van der Wouden’s historical love story The Safekeep gets a new paperback concept, too.
