108 Books to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Posted by Sharon on September 15, 2025

Since 1988, the U.S. has officially observed National Hispanic Heritage Month—from September 15 through October 15—to celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.

In honor of the ongoing celebrations, we’ve gathered below a wide selection of new and recent books from Hispanic authors, divided into two big and basic stacks: fiction and nonfiction.

Most of the books here are newly published in 2025, although we’ve also sprinkled in some big hits and notable titles from the past few years.

Click around below and you’ll find familiar names like Isabel Allende and Silvia Moreno-Garcia, several Pulitzer Prize winners such as Hernan Diaz and Cristina Rivera Garza, plus a remarkably wide selection of various delights. Like, oh…supernatural romance, queer history, alternative timelines, dystopian horror, political thrillers, Hollywood biographies, and Sherlockian space mysteries.
