Any chance that we could get a similar "2011 Pages Challenge", too? I love this idea (I'm aiming for 50 books!), but lots of people read longer books and that would be more meaningful.

When I first saw the challenge set, I put 25, but I'm now thinking that I'll try to do 52, one for each week at least... and if I can't manage, then I will at least finish Wheel of Time before the new book comes out.

This is the first year I've ever done this, so I'm just going for 30, but I'm going to raise it up to 40, 50, or 60 next year.

Don't be nasty, some people really don't read much, and committing to one book a month - or even just one book! - is more than they're used to reading. Those of us who read more shouldn't snark about it!

This is awesome. I love how it tell you your percentage so far and how you did last year. Great idea!

Twelve book club books. Ten discussion-series books. That leaves me 78, or six to seven books a month that I WANT to read, rather than MUST read for work. Yeah, that's a reasonable goal. We'll see.

Great challenge!I wish there was some way to count rereads also towards this challenge, other than by changing the date read to the most recent one. I like to keep my 'date read' set to the first time I read a book. Is there something that can be done about that?
Is anyone having troube adding books? I added a book I just finished yet it is not showing up in my challenge.

Kendra wrote: "Is anyone having troube adding books? I added a book I just finished yet it is not showing up in my challenge."I had that problem initially. When I added the challenge I had already finished 2 books in 2011 and it took time till they showed as part of the count.
Okay it must just be a little bit of a delay :) Thanks! Just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong :)

This is a great idea! Maybe this will motivate me to read more.

That wouldn't be a problem if it had passed through your 'currently-reading' shelf first.
I need help :( i cant figure out how to add the books , well i can figure it out but it just puts it in the comment is that right?

thank u so much goodreads for this great new year resolution which is a resolution plus challenge that we can give to ourselves.

Okay, where do I do that???

I FOUND IT SORRY :)
I originally challenged myself to 100 books, but that's easy for me so I'm considering changing it. I challenge myself every year, but this is a fun way to keep track!

I went with 200. I plan on reading a total of 500 for my 101 things in 1001 days. 200 in 2011, 250 in 2012 and 50 the first couple of months in 2013.

Love the idea and looking forward to the challenge. My brothers and I used to compete to read the most when we were kids and found out the maximum books we could take out of the library very quickly!

How can you guys read so much? It's the 12th and so many people have already read upwards of 8 books! Good for you - I'm at 2.5 so far, which I thought was pretty great for myself. My goal is 65...slightly less than I read last year and the year before, so I'm hoping to surpass that easily.

This is a great idea. I don't really make New year revolutions so this gives me something to work towards all year long. I hope to read 20 books this year. I tend to read books slowly sometimes it takes two or there months for me to read 1 book so for me reading 20 books is a challenge.
I started in June of last year logging what I had read as a month by month shelf. When I went back and counted the "read" dates back to January, I read 232 books last year. I only put 200 books down this year, but it should be interesting...

My challenge is a book each week for a whole year. It amazes me how people can read more than a 100 or 200 books a year! Maybe one day I'll set a goal like this too :)

More, more, more... let's read more.No matter what you read as long as you read more and more and more...
Quantity over quality. Sad.
