48 New and Upcoming Mysteries & Thrillers

Posted by Cybil on October 28, 2022

If you’re in the market for new mysteries and thrillers, we have some options to get you through the end of the year.

In fact, we have 48 options. The books below represent popular recent releases (August through October) and upcoming titles (through the end of 2022) published in the U.S. It’s an interesting mix. There are plenty of familiar names (Grisham, Patterson, Slaughter), along with buzzy debuts (Jackal, Dirt Creek) and highly anticipated sophomore efforts (Any Where You Run, Real Bad Things).

Also look for some throwback short stories, a new edition of S.A. Crosby’s debut, and that happiest of occurrences: a new Louise Penny book.

Scroll over the book cover images below for links and details, and add any interesting possibilities to your Want to Read shelf.

Will I’m surprised that “Fox Creek” didn’t make it onto this list! “Fox Creek” by William Kent Krueger is awesome and thrilling! I also recommend “Hidden Pictures” by Jason Rekulak! I’m also looking forward to reading “Malice House” by Megan Shepherd.

Robert You might wish to consider adding: Rebellious Son by Joe Goldberg and Red Winter by Marc Cameron.

Cynthia The Housekeeper by Joy Fielding was really good, as was The Night She Disappeared by Lisa Jewell and the Housemaid by Freida McFadden - all released in 2022.

message 4: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan McDonnell I think Lisa Gardener should be up there all her books are good. so I was surprised that none of her books are up there.

Sybil Axner I love the Black Otter Bay series by Vincent Wyckoff set on Lake Superior. The newest, Refuge from the Sea might be my favorite, but be sure to read all three to get to know the characters.

I also love listening to Peter Granger's King's Lake series, British mysteries narrated to perfection.

Jacqueline Shortell-McSweeney I am surprised NYC Noir, DR. ALTMAN AND THE CONCUBINES, is not on your list. It is a twisty, mystery. Do people deserve one another? What an ending and answer to the question.

J. Greenwood Hey if you get tired of the same old, check out the Pilate's Faith, part of the John Pilate Mysteries. Quirky mystery/thriller fun.

Janalyn, the blind reviewer They have so many really great books that I have read on here but so many great ones I have then if only they were room for all of the good ones. Great choices though.
