30 Recent 4-Star Fiction Books That Fellow Readers Love

If you’re looking to jump into the deep end of this year’s best new fiction, here’s an idea: Trust your neighbors.
 
The books collected below, all published since the start of this year, have each earned an average rating of four stars and up (at the time this article publishes) from your fellow Goodreads regulars. That’s news you can use. When you want a solid recommendation, it’s always good policy to stick with your fellow book nerds. 

In fact, quite a few of these books are already squarely in the center of worldwide literary conversation right now. For instance: Charmaine Wilkerson’s debut Black Cake, or Isabel Allende’s historical epic Violeta. Ambitious readers might want to tackle The Books of Jacobthe long-awaited and artfully translated opus from Polish author Olga Tokarczuk.

Cristina Buffone I’ve read 8 of these…all 4 or 5 star reads.

Kaya W. Take My Hand was wayyy longer than it needed to be. She didn't need over 300 pages to tell that story.

Kristine I’ve read 6 of these that were 4* or 5*. Pretty varied Lost, but interested in most of these books. No Light to Land On think would say best so far.
