The Top 28 Hit Books (So Far this Year)

Posted by Cybil on March 13, 2019

We're already a fourth of the way through 2019, can you believe that? Time flies when you're reading great books. Speaking of, we dug though Goodreads data to see what new releases are resonating with readers so far this year.

These 28 top books— all published this year in the U.S.—are ranked in order of anticipation and buzz. We measure that by taking a look at how many times a book has been added to Want to Read shelves. Then we factored in how many times these books have been read and the overall average reader ratings (nothing here has a rating below 3.5 stars).

Browse the books below and add what looks good to your Want to Read shelf.

Eskimo Princess Jenkins To be honest, not one of these books looks interesting to me

message 18: by Topher (new)

Topher Colin hmm.. i just read 'when all is said' and it was ok though predictable (i won an ARC from here)... but the rest of these look very boiler-plate, mad-lib, chick-lit-esque, like they should have been spec scripts for made-up lifetime movies, a la '30 rock.' also, 1/4 of the way through this year is 91.25 days, or 6 a.m. on april 2nd. "math is hard," eh goodreads barbie?

Charlotte Lexie wrote: "So happy to see King of Scars and Gilded Wolves here that is awesome! My babies! I so want to read Priory of the Orange Tree..."

I tried to read Gilded Wolves and every time I put it down, I had to start all over again. I could not remember the story. Not my genre, I guess, could not follow it.

LOL. I thought the same thing. Was glad to see your post.

What is a TRL list?"

To Read List"

I had the same question. I guessed that was what it was but the word ‘list’ kept throwing me off because in sentence it reads as: to read list list. LOL.

Maggie Mugford Daisy Jones 😍

message 48: by Patty (new)

Patty Guess I just don't understand why there aren't more "top read" books by male authors. It's seems always to be women. I would like to see more thrillers, drama and action reviewed. I just never get the feeling that these books give much depth to the characters.
