The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. I'm seeing a lot of updates on my home feed for it too. It's really good so far - definitely the best epic fantasy I've read this year

Speaking as someone who reads fantasy precisely because of its literary merit, I'd like to thank those who mentioned The Priory of the Orange Tree. I had totally missed that book's release.
Simone wrote: "The Beantown Girls and Snow Falling on Cedars"I loved 'Snow Falling on Cedars'! Must check out 'The Beantown Girls'.
I'm currently reading 'Persepolis' and 'Dark Emu'.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is still in the top. That is unbelievable. My guess is kids and adults alike will be reading the HP series for centuries to come, if humanity survives.

If so does it still reccomend the Genre fiction you are not interested in?
Serious question, please respond politely if you choose to respond.

Hmm.. I don't. Doesn't GR recommend based on what you have already read and rated? I hardly ever see YA or YA Fantasy. I don't claim to know how Good Reads work in-and-out so this is more of a question than a claim and it is not aggressive so please be polite if you choose to write back.

The best book I've read in a long long time is John Irving's A Prayer for Owen Meany . I can't recommend it highly enough!

It was funny, warm, and engaging!!!! I've read most of Irving's books, mostly as a result of loving Own Meany so much....."World According to Garp" is also very very good...none are bad, just degrees of goodness!

I'm reading No Immediate Danger: Volume One of Carbon Ideologieslittle chance this will make the 'most read' group, but absorbing information and important.
Presently reading 'The House Between Tides' by Sarah Maine (real book); 'Little Soldiers, An American Boy, a Chinese School, and the Global Race to Achieve' by Lenora Chu on my Kindle; Listening to Audio book 'Ways to Hide in Winter' by Sarah St Vincent. Enjoying all of them!
